Research Hypothesis

Please note your hypothesis for your topic under the "comment" section of this blog. Please have this completed before you enter class on Tuesday, 9/22. (Don't forget that your LP notebook is due on 9/24 in class.) These hypothesis statements will be critiqued as a class.

    My Hypothesis:

    With new technology being created every second of the day, people are becoming more reliant on machinery, which is causing a problem for when people may no longer have technology at their fingertips.

    The beer companies use an unethical approach to selling their product through their advertisment such as trying to sell their products to underage college students through changing the colors of the cans to match those of the students' school colors, and the beer companies try to use other techniques such as sex to draw in men because they believe that the alcohol will make them more appealing to women.

    By distorting and hiding truths about enlistment, military advertisements and recruiters entice people to join without letting them know what they are getting themselves into.

  5. Stem cell research could improve the lives of all people by helping medical personnel create cures to current incurable diseases; stem cell reasearch is portrayed in several rhetorical images that satirize the beliefs of those against this research.

    People have this image that people look good when they are tan. They get this idea through advertisement everyday. What they do not realize that when they are in the tanning beds or outside tanning that they are hurting themselves, and they could get cancer from tanning.

    People developed many different conspiracy theories about 9/11 to explain it away, and so they could place the blame on something.

  8. With the way the media has hyped up everyday news and bigger events the public has become angst and overreacts to any slight terror. This is particularly true to the outbreak of swine flu last year.

    "Cash for Clunkers" was put in place to stimulate the economy and to provide more fuel efficient vehicles at a lower price to the American public.

  11. Unrealistic information is leading to American's unrealistic views on the country and the government. Should it be allowed to continue, to let the media manipulate people into thinking what they want them to think? Or should there be steps taken to stop all of the opiniating and release actual facts.

  12. There have been many theories put forth about the causes of global warming. The only plausible cause seems to be the ever-increasing carbon footprint of our world.

  13. With the threat of terrorism on our doorstep the U.S. has respond to these threats with cruelty and degredation by torturing detanees failing to support the values of human rights.
